Public Volunteer Workday
Time & Location
About The Event
Volunteers like you are an essential part of our organization! Your help with the maintenance and organization of our Packing Center warehouse is invaluable.
What to Expect:
When you come volunteer with us there are many tasks you might perform including, but not limited to:
- organizing donations
- sorting donations
- quality assurance/control and inventory of incoming donations
- light cleaning/dusting and trash removal
- running errands
- assembling care packages, as needed
What to Wear:
We ask that you wear comfortable clothing with close-toed shoes and leave valuable belongings at home. While we do provide lockers for you to store your personal items, Packages From Home is not responsible for any lost or damaged personal items. Water fountains are available in our warehouse and office space.
We ask that general volunteers be able to lift 20-50 lbs at a time. We also have lighter duty volunteer tasks that do not involve lifting or carrying heavy items, upon request. One such example would be letter proofreading or data entry. Volunteers needing lighter duty tasks should identify themselves to their volunteer coordinator on the day of the event to seek out appropriate tasks for their limitations.
Volunteers must be 12 years of age or older and supervised by their parent/guardian at all times while volunteering.
What to Complete Before Arriving:
Please finish registering for the event and complete our required volunteer waiver at www.packagesfromhome.org/volunteer-release prior to arriving. This waiver only needs to be comeplete once in your lifetime.
If you have any questions, feel free to call our office at 623-934-3274, M-F from 10a-3p or email firstname.lastname@example.org for help.
