Teaming Up With Luke AFB to Support Troops

Support Troops Thunderbox
Operation Thunderbox and Packages From Home have teamed up to support the air men and women stationed at Luke Air Force Base

The Opportunity

Because Packages From Home looks for ways to support troops and due to the fact that we’re good at working with the military in this capacity. We teamed up with Operation Thunderbox.  A program sponsored by Fighter Country which supports service members stationed to and deployed from Luke AFB.  We are excited and proud to assume day to day operations of this great program.

The Program

Operation Thunder Box began around 2004 by a former Luke command chief, Scott Dearduff and his wife. Service members come in and “shop” for items they need to take with them on deployment.  Members may also request items unavailable at their location to be shipped. PFH will continue to provide the same exemplary service with our amazing supporters and volunteers.

“Operation Thunderbox was originally created to support our deploying Thunderbolts,” said Chief Master Sgt. Rory Wicks, 56th Fighter Wing Command Chief. “Many of our teammates were being sent to austere locations.   Without the ability to obtain some of the basic niceties that provide a sense of home. Operation Thunderbox also serves as an opportunity to thank them for their service. To let each Airman know they are not forgotten.”

Its On-going

Support Troops

Most noteworthy, Packages From Home and it’s volunteers have supported our brave American military personnel for nearly 15 years.  Over those years we have experienced many changes in how we are able to continue our mission. One facet has remained consistent. The more people hear about our mission. The better we are able to support the troops.  So get our there and tell everybody you know.  Packages From Home is building and growing and we are on the job! We make it our business to help you show your support!
